Police in Paris opened fire on a vehicle that tried to hit them – according to local media, they killed two passengers and injured a third.

The incident took place near Pont Neuf – in the center of the French capital – on Sunday evening.

It is assumed that the driver of the vehicle and the passenger sitting in the front seat have died.

The witness told Le Figaro: “The car was parked in the wrong direction along Vert-Galant Square on Pont Neuf, the police approached to control the people in the vehicle by aiming automatic weapons at it.

“The driver drove to the police at full speed. The police fired immediately.”
