FCN: Sandhausen beat Nuremberg with four corner goals! – Bundesliga

So it was about advancing for 1. FC Nuremberg.

Like all top teams in the 2nd league, the club stumbled against SV Sandhausen and lacked important points in the fight for ninth place.

After an early lag because of Bachmann from Sandhausen (4 ‘), the Franks showed an excellent reaction and the goals of Krauße (25’) and Sörensen (54 ‘) turned the match around. But the cheers of 40,000 spectators at Max Morlock’s stadium died down just five minutes later: again it was the corner of the guests that FCN goalkeeper Mathenia – Trybull caught 2: 2 (59th)!

For FCN the shock from which the club recovered. The previously replaced captain Enrico Valentini (32) led from the penalty kick (76th). But the German-Italian blacksmith got ahead and missed the top three from the point.

And it was even worse for the hosts: with corner goals number three and four from Trybull (84th) and Testroet (88th), the sand houses probably eventually cut the club out of the promotion race.

Long faces in the club, the joy of all competitors. Even Hamburger SV, which many have already written off after the bankruptcy in Kiel (0: 1), can now hope to return to the Bundesliga next to Bremen, Schalke, Darmstadt and St. Pauli. The club, sixth in the table, on the other hand, has to hope for more than just a football miracle, given the lousy goal difference (only plus 4), in order to be able to overtake the three teams ahead.

After this “victory from the corner”, the popular scarecrow Sandhausen can now plan another season in the second league with a lead of eight points in 16th place.
