Elon Musk confirms that he has rejected Bill Gates’ cooperation on climate change due to the shorting of Tesla

Brian Brenberg explored Elon Musk’s options when Tesla’s CEO secured $ 46.5 billion in funding for Twitter’s “Fox Business Tonight” bid.

Elon Musk confirmed on Friday that he refused to cooperate with Bill Gates on climate change through a text because Microsoft co-founder short-circuited Tesla.

In the lyrics, the two billionaires seem to meet somewhere before Musk asks Gates if he still has a “half-billion short position against Tesla.”

Gates replies, “I’m sorry I haven’t closed it yet,” and adds, “I’d like to discuss the possibilities of philanthropy.”

Musk replies that he can’t take Gates’ climate change philanthropy “seriously when you have a massive short position against Tesla, the company that does the most to tackle climate change.”

On Friday night, the billionaire SpaceX confirmed the veracity of a text exchange screenshot sent by @WholeMarsBlog, who wrote “No idea if this is true lol” and asked Muska about it.

“Yes,” Musk replied, “but I didn’t tell the NYT. They had to get it through friends of friends. I’ve heard from many people at TED that Gates still lacks half a billion against Tesla, so I asked him, so it’s not strictly secretly.”

Shortening means that an investor borrows shares on the assumption that they will fall and earn on them.

Musk also trolled Gates on Friday with a vulgar tweet comparing a photo of Seattle with a pregnant man’s emoji.

The New York Times did not appear to report the lyrics early on Sunday.

Tesla’s CEO did not say when the exchange took place, and it was not clear where the screenshot came from.

Gates has not yet commented publicly on the lyrics.

Both entrepreneurs have been arguing in the past.
